If you remember, Thenativepeople has already posted a story about a man from India who was discovered with a cricket inside his ear. If you think that one is just some crazy stuff, think again! As one man named Bruce Brandit experienced a similar case, but this time it ain’t cricket but something that has eight legs.
Bruce Brandit had been swimming in a lake in northern Missouri but after dipping in the water, he was left with a pain in his ear.
It felt like something is blocked inside, he decided to use his iPhone to do some self-examination in his ear canal.
But he was horrified to find out what’s causing the pain…a spider! Poking its grumpy head out before withdrawing back inside.
Bruce Brandit uploaded the video on YouTube with a caption, ‘Swam at Lake of the Ozarks last weekend and got a super painful ear infection. Totally blocked ear canal. Tried to use my phone’s camera to see if I could see anything. Found this!’

Unfortunately, some doubted the authenticity of the video and Branit eventually confirmed the web’s suspicions — it is in fact, a fake.
“Okay. So, yeah. I don’t really have a spider in my ear,” Branit who operates a visual special effects company in Kansas City that produces high-end CGI for television, film and commercials wrote on his website.
“I did have a hell-of-a case of swimmers ear and that was the inspiration.” he added.
However, even if Brandit’s case is just a hoax don’t take it lightly because spiders have crawled into people’s ear canals before. In fact, last November singer Katie Melua captured a spider in her ear that’s been living there for a week. She posted these videos on her Instagram:
